I don’t understand why such a great show was cancelled especially since half of the would be third season was already written. I’m really shocked that Masterpiece Theater would do this – such a mistake. I would definitely watch at least one or two more seasons.

Even though Season 2 of Home Fires ended with a cliffhanger, there will be no more episodes in the series. The producers had originally intended on producing a third season—and maybe even continuing it beyond that—but the show was cancelled in the UK.

For the time being though, it feels doubtful that we will ever see anything more of the show on television. I’m appalled and devastated that Home Fires has been cancelled. It was so enjoyable, well written-better script than Downton. There are so many awful programmes on TV.
